Connect
The sea separates archive islands. Group the islands by projects, formats, authors or catalogued dates. Show keeps selected formats visible and makes the other tiles transparent in place. All restores the whole archive. Hubs is a separate reading: raised connections to a representative entry in each island. Selecting a format turns connections off; Hubs restores All. A flight through time may become a guided tour later. Unknown authors and dates are never inferred. People are moons; tools are satellites. Flick either to give it speed along its orbit. Their orbits are a visual metaphor.
